Thank you for your interest in Kelly West Photography.
My love for photography began with my very first job—working as a beach photographer in Virginia Beach, Virginia. That experience sparked a lifelong passion for capturing meaningful moments.
In the late 1990s, I graduated from Virginia Tech and later earned my master’s degree from Old Dominion University. I taught high school Spanish until the birth of my first child. When I began to crave more creativity and freedom in my work, I launched Kelly West Photography. In 2007, I moved both my family and my business to Boca Raton, Florida.
In 2015, I closed my beloved small business after getting (re)married and going from three daughters to six! The past decade has been full—as you can imagine—but now, with our nest nearly empty (sniff sniff), I’m finally able to return to photography.
I describe my style as “portrait art.” I’m especially drawn to black-and-white photography, and I strive to keep everything as natural as possible—the setting, the expressions, and the experience.
My goal is always to capture emotion, connection, and soul.
I believe photographs of people and their special moments are among life’s most treasured possessions. It fills my heart to create images that are cherished today and passed down for generations to come.
Sincerely,
Kelly
