Thank you for your interest in Kelly West Photography.

My love for photography began early, with my very first job as a photographer on the beach in Virginia Beach, Virginia. That experience sparked a lifelong passion for capturing meaningful moments. I officially launched my own photography business in 2006, and from then until 2015, I photographed everything centered around people — families, high school seniors, weddings, models, and corporate events. I met so many wonderful people and truly loved being part of their celebrations and milestones. 

My small business closed in 2015 when I got (re)married and went from having 3 daughters to having 6! The last 10 years have been quite busy... as you can imagine.  Now that our nest is almost empty (sniff sniff), I am finally returning to my love for the art of photography. 

This time, I am focusing on portrait art.  I especially love black and white photography.  I prefer working with individuals, couples, and occasionally small groups.  My desire is always to capture feelings, connection, and soul.  

I believe that photographs of people and their special moments are the most valuable art that one can own.  It fills my heart to create images that can be treasured today and passed down for generations to come.
